Action plan

We have identified several actions to help reduce our carbon footprint. We will investigate whether these are practical.

Make sure every classroom has a recycle box and improve the signage for these

Have plastic recycling

Put energy saving light bulbs in all suitable lights

Have a 'walk to school day' for staff and students

Make sure that computers are turned off at the end of the day

Make sure that projectors are turned off at the end of the day

Get electric bikes for the staff to commute to Coleridge

Install motion sensors on the lights

Our carbon reduction commitment:

To reduce their carbon footprints, students of Parkside Community College have made the following commitments:

73 students will cycle or walk rather than having a lift

48 students will use public transport rather than having a lift

64 students will recycle their rubbish

65 students will switch off lights

53 students will not leave appliances on standby
