Locations for the new recycling bins
14 September 2007
The Year 10 student council representatives have been asking everyone in the school how many recycling bins they think we need in the school. Almost everyone we’ve spoken to – students, teachers and other school staff – agree that we need to double the number of bins (at least). That means that another ten of each kind of recycling bin needs to be installed. The Carbon College community is also unanimous that the junior quadrangle needs at least three recycling points - it currently has none. Other popular suggestions are: - At the far end of the football field
- Directly beside the school canteen
- At the front of back gates, where most students pass on their way to and from school
We will make the final decision on where the bins are to be installed over the next week and welcome your suggestions here.

We need bins in front of the library because everyone just leaves their rubbish in the cloak room.

We will consider the spot outside the library, but it would seem that there?s not much room there.

Are they going to be as big as the bins we currently have, and are they going to be cleaned more often?

We will be purchasing the bins that are the most cost-efficient so we can?t tell you yet if they are going to be the same as the current ones, but we will let you know. We expect that the current rate of cleaning will be fine as, with more bins, each one won?t be as overused.
